Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer (posted 1-31-12)
Upper Iowa University invites the applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer position. This is a 10-month non-benefit position with a start date of August 1, 2012. Compensation for the position includes a monthly stipend, tuition assistance, and professional fee assistance.
Responsibilities include assisting the Athletic Training Staff with all aspects of a NCAA Division II athletic training department. This includes but is not limited to: prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and administration of athletic injuries, travel with assigned teams (Soccer; with the possibility of other sport opportunities), clinical instruction and supervision of undergraduate athletic training students in a CAATE accredited program, and other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Upper Iowa University has 12 sports and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Graduate school options include Master's degree programs offered by Upper Iowa University or pursuing a Master's degree online through a university of your choice. This position has a stipend of $16,800 minus tuition of chosen degree program.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, NATABOC certification or eligible for exam prior to start date, eligible for Iowa state licensure, and CPR/AED certification.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting (posted 1-18-12)
Upper Iowa University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track position in Accounting on the Fayette campus in the Division of Business beginning August 2012. Rank and salary will be determined by qualifications of the successful candidate. The position requires a CPA and Masters in Professional Accountancy (MPA), MBA, or Masters in a related business field (DBA, PhD in Business or Doctorate in a related field highly desirable).
The position requires the ability to teach eight classes per year (in four 8-week terms) in Accounting and portions of the business core, primarily Ethics and/or Management Information Systems. Ability to teach Federal Tax, Accounting for Not-for-Profits, Advanced Accounting and/or develop and teach Accounting Information Systems is a plus. The position requires success in teaching students from culturally diverse backgrounds and excellence in teaching, experience in the use of instructional technology, advising and mentoring, and involvement in university life is expected. Continued professional development, participation in academic governance, and professional, university, division and community service are all factored into tenure decisions. Previous full-time teaching in a college or university highly desired.
Teaching assignments are predominantly face-to-face on the Fayette campus, but may require teaching as needed in hybrid, online, domestic center, and international center modalities. The successful applicant is expected to complete Pearson Learning Studio training during the 2012-2013 academic year.

Department Chair of Nursing (posted 1-6-12)
Upper Iowa University invites applications for a full time position as Department Chair of Nursing beginning July 1, 2012 (subject to negotiation). A master's in Nursing is required, as is a doctorate in nursing, education or a related field. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program. The successful candidate will administer Upper Iowa's RN-BSN program which includes classroom and distance learning components. As the program has several center locations travel is expected. The Vice President for International Programs reports directly to the President of the University and is to provide leadership and oversight of the business and daily operations of University centers at various international locations which deliver a variety of academic programs through local, on-site faculty and staff. This position will carry out duties that emphasize program development, budget management, staff development, planning, expansion, and growth on a sound fiscal basis while maintaining a high level of quality and accountability.

We seek a proven leader with a master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education, senior level experience in higher education, and experience managing oversight for a satellite campus, branch campus, center, or other similar venue located outside the United States as part of an accredited US institution of higher education. Further, an understanding of US accreditation standards and student and faculty/staff immigration regulations are required along with experience in international business partnerships and international business practices, student and faculty exchanges, and ESL programs. The successful candidate must have the ability to work well with University cross-functional teams and dotted line relationships and bring a demonstrated record of success in the development, implementation, and expansion/growth of higher education ventures internationally.

MBA Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Business

This is a 12 month, full-time, tenure-track, faculty position with 50% release time for administration of the MBA program. The academic rank is assistant professor.
