“I am a student at the UIU-Wausau Center but have also utilized Upper Iowa’s Online and Distance Learning Programs, as well. I am a Human Service major with a minor in Criminal Justice. I am also a mother to two beautiful children, ages 13 and 10. My absolute passion is to work in Child Protective Services upon completion of my degree and internship. I am currently interning in a CPS position in Wisconsin, generally take three to four classes per term, and commute most nights to the Wausau Center which is an hour away. I like having the option to incorporate Online, if needed, and the class workloads have been very obtainable and fair. I am very fortunate to have a great center to call my “UIU home."
Upper Iowa was such an easy choice for me when it came time to return to school full time. I absolutely love the eight-week accelerated schedule and the flexibility to use the Distance Learning when needed. I was fortunate enough to visit the Fayette campus last year when I attended their IEXL program. That is an amazing way to knock out 3 credits in one short week, with the added bonus of getting to see the school you are a part of. I really did not appreciate UIU's full beauty until I visited in person. I was blessed to meet such wonderful staff on site and made new friends as well.
I love UIU, and I am a very, VERY proud Peacock!! I plan to walk in the May graduation ceremony this year (2010), and it will truly be one of the biggest accomplishments in my life.”
