Library card/circulation policy.
You must have a library card to check material out of the library. Sign up at the circulation desk. If lost, a $1.00 replacement fee will be accessed if another card is issued.
Library materials, except periodicals and Reference may be checked out for 28 days.
Reserve materials located at the circulation desk must be used in the library unless specified - 2 hour/overnight reserve. Overnight checkout material should be returned no later than 10:00 am. ($1.00 fine per hour/per item overdue is charged, with $10.00 limit.)
- Courtesy notices will be sent by e-mail, mail, or Peacock Express to remind patron that library material will be due in a few days. Action required will be to return the material or renew the items before the due date.
- Overdue materials - charges for item replacement cost, processing fee, plus the fine is accessed until the material is returned. Once returned, replacement cost and processing fee are dropped and only the fine (10 cents per day/per item, limit to $10.00) will be charged. Before exiting UIU, all fines and fees are expected to be paid and materials returned.
- Fines & fees statements are sent each term to patron's e-mail address, mail, or Peacock Express mailbox if previously not paid. Fees not paid by the end of the school year are turned over to the business office for payment on account.
