Undergraduate Students
If you are a U.S. undergraduate applying for admission to the Fayette Campus, you will need to submit your ACT (Code 1360) or SAT (Code 6885) scores and your high school transcripts. Any prospective student who visits the campus and applies will automatically have the application fee waived.
Each application is reviewed by the Vice President of Enrollment Management. Primary consideration for admission is based upon academic preparation, academic performance, and test scores with secondary consideration based on extracurricular activities and leadership qualities.
UIU presumes that candidates selected for admission to Upper Iowa University will continue to maintain a level of academic accomplishment equal or superior to their record at the time of application. Additionally, applicants who receive an offer of admission while completing high school must understand that the offer of admission is contingent upon the completion of their high school diploma, or the equivalent.
Upper Iowa University reserves the right to rescind offers of admission to candidates whose final academic records are at levels lower than the record on which the admission decision was based. As well, Upper Iowa University reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission to anyone who has falsified, or otherwise misrepresented information related to the admissions process, or for reasons of conduct inappropriate to the ethos of the university.
Education Centers / Distance Education
If you are an undergraduate student applying to a U.S. center or to study online, the minimum requirement is graduation for a regionally accredited and/or state-recognized public or private high school, or successful completion of a GED equivalent. For online programs, Upper Iowa requires at least a 2.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for any previous college course work.
Learners must submit official transcripts from all previous schools (high school or college) that you have attended, as well as official transcripts documenting experiential learning, such as CLEP or DSST scores. All transcripts must come to UIU directly from the granting institution. If you are applying for veterans benefits, please submit a DD 214. Active duty military and reservists must submit a DD295, AARTS, CCAF or SMART. In Iowa, teachers seeking additional endorsements, must submit a copy of the current teaching license. There is a $50 application fee. Complete admissions procedures are detailed in the catalog.
