Plan to Attend!
It’s Homecoming Weekend 2010! You’ll want to make plans now to be on campus in Fayette October 8 and 9 for a jam-packed weekend of celebration.
There’s the Homecoming game against the University of Minnesota, Crookston, on Saturday. There’s the alumni gala, the Hall of Fame, special alumni recognitions, and gatherings with former classmates and soon-to-be friends. You won’t want to miss the bonfire and coronation or the traditional parade (parade entry form) and the tailgate and goalpost parties. And you’ll want to be on hand to meet the board at the ice cream social at President Walker’s home. There’s also a new art exhibit and a display by math and science students. It’s a full schedule of festivities. (schedule and more information)
You may not recognize campus with all the exciting projects that have been completed or are under construction. Plan to attend the Grand Opening & Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony (Ribbon-Cutting schedule) for the Liberal Arts Building and South Village I, a suite-style residence hall. The program starts at 3:30 p.m. Friday and includes tours and a reception. Both buildings are part of Phase I of the UIU $75 million capital improvement program (more information, opens in new window)—the largest construction project in the University’s history. And don’t forget to stop downtown and check out construction of the new restaurant and logo store that is part of the project.
Homecoming Weekend 2010…we can’t imagine you not being here to share in the celebration. Please let us know your plans by October 1. (Reservation Form)
It’s a great weekend to be a Peacock!
