Paragraph #3:  What are your expectations for this class?  Drawing upon a

successful learning experience, what do you expect me as a teacher to do?

Handbook for Writers: Read Chapter 2.  You will have a topic that you will

be asked to write on regularly for class.  This should be something that

you want to know more about and will keep your interest for six weeks. 

Focus on pgs 33-43 to help you think through and appropriate topic, and

come to class with a list of five possibilities.

Read Chapter 35.  Pay particular attention to in-text citations covered in

pgs 628-633, and the student sample on pgs 651-662.  I recommend

highlighting, underlining and/or tabbing this section, as you will use this

reference throughout the entire Upper Iowa program.
