UIU gives you a variety of programs through which you can advance your educational success and strive towards your career goals.
No matter where you are in the world, if you have access to mail, e-mail, or fax services, you can begin or continue your studies through the UIU External Degree Program. Self-paced coursework is guided by professionals in your field of study. Materials can be exchanged via the postal service, e-mail, or fax, so your education goes wherever you do, and the open enrollment style of the program gives you up to six months to complete your coursework (with extensions available for special circumstances). There is no participation-per-timeframe requirement for this program – you work at your own pace and on your own schedule.
The UIU Online Program offers you the opportunity to further advance your education, including graduate-level degrees, using the power of the Internet. Course materials are delivered via e-mail, and include asynchronous discussions with other individuals enrolled in your program. Structured class schedules are set at eight-week increments in a rotating class schedule. [Note: Online Program participants are graded, in part, on attendance; you must participate in your online classes at least five times per week.]
Traditional classroom-based learning is available through UIU's Military Learning Centers. Currently located in Kansas, Louisiana, and Texas, these centers provide military personnel and their families the opportunity to take college-level courses without leaving the military installation.
If you're on the move, you can combine aspects of any of the three UIU Extended University programs (External Degree, Online, and Military Learning Centers) to work with your personal schedule and duty status.
