What our students are saying....The decision to pursue an education later in life is not always an easy one to make. As a Career Firefighter, our work schedule is somewhat different than the rest of the workforce, so a “traditional” degree program tailored to a working parent didn’t quite fit either.
What I found and truly appreciated with the External Degree Program from Upper Iowa University was the flexibility in which to pursue my studies. I was able to begin and complete each class within a reasonable timeframe tailored to my needs, I was not bound to a set semester to begin and complete each class. UIU also recognized and awarded credit for previous training hours that Firefighters complete throughout their careers.
If you are motivated and serious about furthering your education, I would encourage you to consider the External Degree Program from Upper Iowa University, you can do this!
