» UIU student one of 12 honored with business award

FAYETTE, Iowa (April 22, 2008) - Upper Iowa University senior Jennifer Hennessy from Waukon recently received an award from the Iowa chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI), a professional organization for finance and accounting executives, established in 1931. 

          The award recognizes the personal and academic achievements of 12 regional students in the field of accounting and finance and is presented to seniors who show great promise in the profession.

          Hennessy received the award during the annual FEI Academic Night Awards dinner on April 17 held at the Des Moines Embassy Club. Presenter was Tom Riley, director of finance at Briggs Corporation and president of the Iowa Chapter of FEI. Featured speaker included Kelley Ellis, recruiting manager at Robert Half Finance and Accounting, who spoke about hiring trends in accounting and finance. Ellis is also an active board member for the Iowa chapter of FEI.
