Women’s tennis finishes regular season 8-0 

Front (l-r)  Mallery Cox, Kelsey Montgomery, Faith Atherton, Katie Rodewald, Nicole HenryFAYETTE, Iowa (May 1, 2008) -- The Upper Iowa University (UIU) women's tennis team completed a perfect Northern Intercollegiate Sun Conference (NSIC) season of 8-0 with four conference victories, defeating U-Mary (9-0), Bemidji State (7-2), UM-Crookston (9-0), and Northern State (9-0).

At the two-day NSIC Championship Tournament held in Minneapolis April 19-20, the Peacocks finished third overall, with the following players receiving special honors:

               Kasey Huisman of Aplington, Iowa--All-Conference at #2 singles
               Kelsey Montgomery of Stewartville, Minnesota--All-Conference at #4 singles
               Jennifer Bradfield of Fairfield, Iowa-- Honorable Mention at #1 singles
               Bradfield and Huisman combined at #1 doubles to make All-Conference

To be named All-Conference, a player(s) must win the championship
in one of the nine brackets. All runner-up individuals and doubles teams
earn honorable mention recognition.

 
 Fenwick earns NSIC Tennis Coach of the Year

Chad Fenwick was voted on by his peers as NSIC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Peacocks to a regular season NSIC Championship. Fenwick joins Chad Markuson (Golf) and Heath Grimm (Wrestling) as UIU coaches also earning the award this year.
