» Stamats thanks UIU for use of space during flood recovery

FAYETTE, Iowa (April 9, 2009) - Stamats, Inc. Vice President and General Manager Bill Stamats of Cedar Rapids travelled to Fayette Tuesday, Apr. 7, to personally present Upper Iowa University President Alan G. Walker with a framed "thank you" gift.UIU President Alan G. Walker and Bill Stamats

After Stamats fell victim to the 2008 flood that devastated downtown Cedar Rapids, ruining its offices, Stamats leased 5,040 square feet of space at Upper Iowa University's center located at 700 Bell Dr. SW in Cedar Rapids. Upper Iowa, a current client of Stamats, had enough room in its newly constructed, state-of-the-art building to accommodate about 60 Stamats employees while its flood-damaged offices were being renovated.

"We were glad Upper Iowa had the opportunity to support Stamats throughout the months they spent recovering from this tragic event," said Walker. "Hopefully, our response to their need for office space made a significant difference in Stamats' ability to continue to service their clients without interruption."

Stamats responded, "Stamats, Inc. extends our most gracious thank you to Upper Iowa University for the use of their Cedar Rapids Branch Campus facility during our "hour of need" when our own building was devastated by the flood of 2008 in Cedar Rapids."

Stamats, Inc. occupied UIU's building from June 27 to mid-December before returning to its offices located at 615 Fifth Street SE, providing higher education integrated marketing services to colleges and universities.
