» UIU reports university-wide enrollment up by 5.6 percent

FAYETTE, Iowa (October 3, 2008) -Total fall enrollment for all delivery modalities at Upper Iowa University is up 5.6 percent. Upper Iowa has 5,937 students at its residential campus, 15 center locations, international, online and independent study programs. The institution's fall 2007 enrollment was 5,618.

The numbers were provided this week to the Iowa College and University Enrollment Report, which annually collects enrollment data from all Iowa post-secondary institutions.

"We are proud that so many students-traditional and non-traditional combined-have chosen Upper Iowa University to receive a quality education," said UIU President Alan G. Walker. "Our online program is award-winning; we've expanded our center locations; our international program continues to grow; and our strategic plan will make the Fayette campus even bigger and better, proving that Upper Iowa continues to be an ascending institution of higher learning."

The enrollment report is submitted to the Iowa Coordinating Council for Post High School Education (ICCPHSE), a voluntary association of higher education boards and institutional leaders made up of representatives from 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities offering higher education programs- public and private, profit and non-profit.
