Fayette, IA (October 6, 2009) – Upper Iowa University’s online undergraduate degree programs in Psychology, Social Science, and Business Management were ranked “Best Value in Online Education” by GetEducated.com, LLC for offering a high-quality distance education to a national audience at tuition rates well below the national average.
Additionally, UIU’s online master’s degree programs in Organizational Development and Human Resources Management were also given the same high marks by GetEducated.com, who announces these rankings every two years.
“Upper Iowa University is very proud to have our degree programs recognized in GetEducated.com,” said Dr. William Duffy, senior vice president for Academic Extension. “This recognition reflects our emphasis on quality and affordability, and our efforts to continually strive to provide outstanding student services.”
Acting as a consumer advocacy group, GetEducated.com reviews, rates, and ranks online colleges along the dimensions of what matters most to consumers: cost and credibility. It states the number one question its counselors receive from consumers relates to affordability, where can they obtain a high-quality degree at a reasonable cost?
As a result, GetEducated.com launched the Best Buy award program and issues report cards on online degree programs in an effort to bring transparency to the online education selection process in terms of cost, public perception and verified student satisfaction. It also provides information on degree credibility, so students can avoid schools considered diploma mills or bogus universities.
Upper Iowa University also received Best Buy awards in 2006 and 2008. GetEducated.com is endorsed by Fortune magazine, The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, and Newsweek. Go to www.geteducated.com for more information.
Duffy added, “Of course, we feel Upper Iowa University students deserve the best, but most important, their success is our success!”
