This award, sponsored by alumni Dr. Richard Tesoriero, Dr. Donald Foley and Dr. Kurt Wood, is made to an outstanding sophomore who is majoring in biology and chemistry, and if no double major is available, then biology or chemistry, favoring prechiropractic. The award is applied to the student’s junior year financial aid package at Upper Iowa University. Prospective award recipients are recommended to the Honors and Awards Committee by the senior faculty member in the biology department and the chemistry department.

This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher. Upper Iowa University was an important element in Joe and Janet’s life. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student majoring in biology, chemistry or mathematics with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, who is intending to pursue graduate studies toward an M.D., M.S. or Ph.D degree in the future. The scholarship is to be used toward the purchase of books for classes during the next academic year. The scholarship recipient will be chosen by the faculty of the Division of Science and Mathematics.

This scholarship was established by Gerald McCauley, class of 1961 and a member of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Allen Zecha, an entrepreneur and friend of the University, to honor a second-year business student with an interest in international business. The student who receives this scholarship must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average, good leadership qualities and good character.

Established by Louise Stivers Scott in honor of her mother, Mrs. B. Robert Stivers and in memory of her father, Bertram Robert Stivers, for the influence they have had on her life and work with students at Upper Iowa University. To be given annually to a rising sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum grade point average of 2.25. Faculty and staff will nominate students based on demonstrated qualities of honesty, integrity and leadership. The Honors and Awards Committee will select the recipient from the nominees.

Only if there is not an athletic training major at Upper Iowa University the scholarship will be awarded to an education major. The scholarship will be awarded to a student completing his/her sophomore or junior year to be used for his/her junior or senior year at Upper Iowa University. The student must have a grade point average of 3.25 or above.

This scholarship was established in memory of John and Honorine Falb; Honorine was a member of the class of 1929 and a fine musician. The family chose this as a fitting memorial that would demonstrate the affection and loyalty the Falb family has held for Upper Iowa University. The scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior music student for two years. The third year the fund is used to underwrite the cost of a guest performer or a music workshop.

This scholarship was established in 2000 in memory of Dr. John Rippe, class of 1928 and longtime member of the Board of Trustees. This scholarship is given annually to a student from Minnesota with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, who is well-rounded and actively involved in community and school activities. If there are no eligible students from Minnesota, a student from Iowa may be chosen.
