ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)
The main goal of the ESL program is to provide academic English preparation to students to ensure successful integration into UIU classes. The ESL program is comprised of four core courses: reading, writing, grammar and communication. An additional course on American culture is required as well. Equally important, this program will provide deeper insights into many aspects of American life and culture. With many activities both in and out of class, students will become functioning, respected, and appreciated members of UIU and the surrounding communities.
