The Upper Iowa University is located in Fayette, IA. Fayette is nestled in the northeast corner of Iowa in the United States of America.
Upper Iowa University located 50 minutes north of Waterloo, IA; 1 1/2 hours north of Cedar Rapids, IA; 3 1/2 hours southeast of Minneapolis, MN; 3 1/2 hours northeast of Des Moines, IA; 5 hours west of Chicago, IL.
Town
With a population of approximately 1,500 and home to Upper Iowa University, Fayette provides the small town atmosphere while offering a great education and various outdoor activities. For example, state parks, walking/biking trails, frisbee golf and a golf course are all available to enjoy in Fayette. Fayette is also located within a reasonable distance to a water park, malls, movie theaters and various restaurants.

Transportation
Need a ride? Contact Facilities Management and Services to assist you with transportation to/from the airport.
Upper Iowa University also provides transportation to airport and bus terminals in both Cedar Rapids and Waterloo. The student will be charged a flat fee per one-way trip (depending on the location). This fee is due before the trip will be scheduled and is pro-rated based on the number of travelers.

1.) Live in the dorms: Consider having an American roommate and meet your neighbors.
2.) Get involved: participate in the culture during your study here. Develop friendships with people from other countries, try new food, attend campus events on campus and trying new activities..
3.) Submerge yourself in the new culture: Avoid only communicating with students from your native country.
4.) Enjoy the natural beauty of Fayette.
Recreation
Upper Iowa University's Outdoor Pursuit and Office of Student Services have equipment for biking, camping, canoeing, hunting, fishing, bird watching, kayaking, and cricket. In addition the Recreation Center have equipment for volleyball, basketball, bad mitten, exercise machines, ect... As well as hosting intramural sports and other exercise classes.
The student lounge area in Garbee Hall features pool tables, ping pong equipment, video games and other game equipment. Board games and other activities are available for use in the Resident Assistance office.
This is all free for use by UIU students.
