The School of Liberal Arts offers majors in art, communication studies, criminal justice, English, English with a creative writing emphasis, graphic design, human services, psychology, social science, sociology and sport communication. Minors are offered in art, art history, graphic design, communication studies, criminal justice, history, journalism, political science, psychology, sociology and Spanish. Associate of arts degrees are offered in liberal arts and criminal justice as well. For students interested in pursuing teacher licensure, the School works closely with the Andres School of Education in areas such as American government, American history, art, English/language arts, journalism, psychology, social studies, sociology, Spanish and speech communications. A bachelor of arts in liberal arts degrees allows student to earn a degree with an overall emphasis on majors and courses within the school, while acquiring the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential to the programs. The School also offers a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program. A broad range of course options and curricula is available within the School of Liberal Arts. The opportunity for substantial cross-disciplinary study assures a complete educational experience and preparation in a wide range of skill sets. Liberal Arts offers advising in several pre-professional areas, including a minor in pre-law.
