» About Upper Iowa University Standards

For many years, research has shown there are benefits to communicating who an organization is in a clear, concise and consistent way.  By doing this, an organization will be in a position to develop and equip others to carry the same message to its various circle of influence and encourage exponential evangelism within its various target audiences.

For Upper Iowa University, like many other institutions of higher learning, we have many ways in which we communicate to our key audiences. We communicate in print, on television, by radio, and through various electronic mediums.  We also, of course, communicate through our signage and when we speak to groups as representatives of the university.  In all of these ways, we create an impression and leave behind the remembrance of an experience.  The more consistent the message, the stronger the level of recall this communication will have in the mind of the target audience; and thus, the greater likelihood the intended message will impress upon them.

The end of the matter is this; everyday, Upper Iowa University is only one of many messages being received by our various communities.  In order to have the greatest opportunity to be heard and remembered in the most desirable manner, it is up to all of us to do so in a unified, clear, concise and consistent manner. This community effort will yield a community benefit.

Please consider the following set of guidelines and your part in helping promote our fine institution as you prepare communications in their various forms for your key audiences.  Also remember that we, in Marketing and Communications, are here to serve you.
