Upper Iowa University, Eastern Iowa Community College District sign agreement to help students complete degrees

Upper Iowa University President Dr. Alan Walker and Eastern Iowa Community College District Chancellor Dr. Patricia Keir shake hands on a new articulation agreement between the two colleges.
FAYETTE, Iowa (September 23, 2010) — Upper Iowa University and the Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD), Davenport, have signed an articulation agreement that will make it easier for EICCD students to transfer to UIU to complete a four-year bachelor’s degree.
“Our goal is to provide a seamless transfer process for Eastern Iowa Community College students so that they can further their education at Upper Iowa University, said UIU President Dr. Alan G. Walker. “We are committed to exploring partnerships like this to help us serve the educational needs of students at our campus in Fayette as well as through our U.S. and international centers and our distance learning programs.”
“Many of our students want to continue their studies and earn a four-year degree,” said EICCD Chancellor Dr. Patricia A. Keir. “This articulation agreement with UIU ensures that the credits students earn with us will transfer smoothly and help them reach their educational goals more quickly. We are pleased to enter into an agreement that benefits the students we will share.”
Under the agreement, UIU will waive any application fees.
“We look forward to working closely with EICCD students under this agreement, especially with the opening of our new educational center in the Quad Cities later this year,” Walker added.
