This is the fourth award bestowed on the UIU commercial by national and regional marketing organizations.
The silver Telly is the highest award bestowed in the annual competition, which is judged by The Silver Telly Council, a panel of professional advertising and production professionals. More than 13,000 entries are submitted annual by ad agencies, production companies, TV stations, cable companies, interactive agencies, corporations, and other organizations. The UIU commercial was honored in the “Schools/Colleges/Universities” category.
“The University has a great story to tell,” said UIU President Alan G. Walker. “We are in the midst of historic growth and significant change and, as an ascending university, we have seen seen six consecutive years of increased enrollment and expansion of our online and community-based educational centers.”
“We are very honored that some of the ways in which we are telling that story are being recognized for excellence at a national level,” he added.
“In just 30 seconds, this ad ties together the president’s vision for the future of Upper Iowa University with the excitement of a project that is changing the face of our residential campus and that reflects the growth and energy across the entire University,” said Melik Peter Khoury, UIU senior vice president. “The final ad gives the feeling of a movie preview, which is why we decided to show the ad on the big screens in regional movie theaters as well.”
The ad was produced in collaboration with ME&V, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
