Upper Iowa University invites entries in 2011 Homecoming parade
FAYETTE, Iowa (August 3, 2011) — Upper Iowa University invites community businesses and organizations to join the 2011 Homecoming parade on Saturday, September 17, in downtown Fayette.
This year’s Homecoming theme is “Honoring the Past, Transforming the Future.” Community entries will compete for cash prizes of $100 (first), $75 (second) and $50 (third). Entry forms are available online at www.uiu.edu/homecoming. Entries are due by September 5.
The UIU Homecoming parade will line up at 9:15 a.m. on Washington Street near Garbee Hall. The parade steps out at 10:30 a.m.
The parade is one of several activities scheduled for Homecoming Weekend, which also includes the grand opening of the Student Center and the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, September 16; and the Homecoming game against Minnesota State University-Moorhead and the Alumni Banquet on Saturday, September 17.
