Upper Iowa University invites entries for 2012 Homecoming parade
FAYETTE, Iowa (August 28, 2012) – Upper Iowa University invites community businesses and organizations to join the 2012 Homecoming parade on Saturday, September 29, in downtown Fayette.
This year's Homecoming theme is "Building a Future, Constructing a Memory." Community entries will compete for cash prizes of $100 for first place; $75 for second place; and $50 for third place. Entry forms are available online at www.uiu.edu/homecoming. Entries are due by September 22.
The UIU Homecoming parade will line up at 9:15 a.m. on Washington Street near Garbee Hall. The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m.
The parade is one of several activities scheduled for Homecoming Weekend, which also includes several department open houses and the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, September 28; and the Homecoming game against Winona State and the Alumni Banquet on Saturday, September 29.
