FAYETTE, Iowa (July 27, 2012) - Upper Iowa University hosted area youth in 1st through 9th grades recently for a summer camp, which included several fun learning activities. Participants started the week with a run through the UIU 'low ropes course.' The campers also played floor hockey and lacrosse, participated in art projects and experimented with robots, attended two technology sessions, learned about dinosaurs and built and launched rockets. They also went fishing and participated in an archery exercise.
"I want to thank you for a fabulous week. I hope you do this again next year," said Angie McGhee, a parent from Oelwein. "My little guy really enjoyed your program and was excited to go back every day. This program offers so much more than extension as far as a child's interest and quality. The science lessons that were incorporated into the daily lessons really met my son's interests. Your staff did an excellent job."
This year's camp was coordinated by Upper Iowa's Office of Student Development.
