FAYETTE, Iowa (August 28, 2013) – The five-member Student Government Association (SGA) team welcomed students this weekend during Upper Iowa University's Peacock Experience, a two-day event featuring games, campus scavenger hunt and nightly entertainment. Heading up Peacock Experience was UIU's Office of Student Development, which was assisted by student groups including the SGA.
Representing the student body this year on SGA are president Timothy Rueb, a junior majoring in management and marketing from Stillwater, Minn.; vice president Papa Pireku, a senior majoring in biology from Cape Coast, Ghana; secretary Shay Enriquez, a senior majoring in exercise and sports studies from St. Charles, Ill.; treasurer Kaitlyn Emanuel, a junior majoring in athletic training from Byron, Minn.; and academic officer Cody Booker, a sophomore majoring in biology and minoring in business from LaSalle, Ill.
Student Government at Upper Iowa plays an important role in student services. It serves as the liaison group among students, faculty and administration; keeping each informed of the other's interests.
