How Do I Register for an OAR Day?

To reserve an OAR date, complete our online reservation form or please contact your Admission Counselor!

Who Will Be There?

Each full-day OAR Day will offer a program for parents/families and a program for students. The programs begin together and then divide mid-morning to allow parents/families and students to explore different aspects of Upper Iowa University. The Transfer OAR Day is a half-day program for students only.  A confirmation reminder of your selected OAR day will be sent out two weeks prior to your arrival.

What Should I Plan On?

  • Dress in comfortable clothing as programs will be offered across campus and there will be walking between sites. Be prepared for the weather!  Bringing an umbrella and wearing a sweatshirt or jacket is a good idea.
  • You will take academic assessments in Math, English & Writing. (Students must submit disability documentation if requesting testing accommodations).

What Do I Need to Bring?

  • Photo ID card and your Social Security Card. These items are necessary for those students who are awarded workstudy.
  • If you are bringing guests, there will be a $25 charge for the first guest and $10 for each additional guest (children 5 & under are free - payable by personal check, cash or money order) for the June 8, 10,  12, 22 & 26 OAR Days.
  • Student Development forms (housing reservation form or commuter exemption request, room & board contract, medical history, etc.).  The Medical History Form is available to download & print (pdf format).
  • An umbrella, in case of rain!
  • Bring your questions - you may want to write them down! Your OAR Day is a great day to have all your questions answered!
  • Your photo will be taken for your student ID card.
  • You will confirm financial aid paper work and packages.
  • Please expect to meet new people as the sessions are interactive.
  • Expect to be actively engaged in discussion as opposed to passively listening to speakers.
