Phone: (563) 425-5665Dr. John Andersen joined the faculty in 2001 after a career in various Iowa public schools in which he served as a social studies teacher, counselor, associate principal, and high school principal.
Dr. Andersen has a B.A. in sociology from Loras College, an M.A. in school counseling and an Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Iowa.
He typically teaches the secondary school general (instructional) methods and field experience courses at the undergraduate level and "constructing learning environments" in the M.Ed. program and supervises student teachers.
As an asset for the students enrolled, Dr. Andersen brings his perspective as a former supervisor and evaluator of beginning and experienced secondary school educators is an asset for the students enrolled in the teacher education program at Upper Iowa University.

Dr. Janet Kehe

Phone: (563) 425-5397Janet Kehe, Ed.D. started teaching at Upper Iowa University in 1997 after spending over 15 years as a full-time and substitute teacher in Northeast Iowa schools.
Dr. Kehe teaches many of the courses necessary for the reading endorsement and the elementary math methods course. Dr. Kehe initiated a UIU cyberguide project to integrate technology to support student learning and presented on this project at the regional International Reading Conference.
Dr. Kehe's goal is to teach the future educators in her classroom to become the best that they can be by reflecting on how their instruction impacts student learning.
Gina Kuker

Phone: (563) 425-5240Gina Kuker is a faculty member of Upper Iowa University's Education Department and teaches foundations of American education, computers and instructional technology, and subject specific methods.
Prior to joining the education faculty in 2001, she was the Registrar of the university for a year.
Gina received her B.A. in English education from Concordia College in St. Paul, Minnesota and received an M.A. in educational administration from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Gina is currently completing a Ed.D. in education from the University of Northern Iowa.

Angela Leete

Phone: (563) 425-5782Angela Leete joined the faculty of Upper Iowa University in 2004 as an assistant athletic trainer. In 2006, she was named the Program Director of Athletic Training Education.
She earned a B.S. from Iowa State University in exercise and sports science and a M.S. in health, physical education, and recreation from Emporia State University.
At Upper Iowa, Angela teaches therapeutic modalities, therapeutic reconditioning, organization, and administration in athletic training, psychology of coaching and sport, clinical work practicum I, and clinical work practicum VII.
Prior to coming to Upper Iowa University, Angela was an assistant athletic trainer and assistant softball coach at the collegiate level. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Iowa Athletic Trainers' Society. She and her husband, Dan (UIU, '00) reside in Sumner, Iowa, with their daughter, Payton.
Mark Levin

Phone: (563) 425-5322Mark Levin began his career at Upper Iowa University in the fall of 2005. Prior to joining the education faculty, he taught in the public education system for over 30 years. Mark has taught third, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade, although most of his teaching experience has been at the sixth grade level.
Mark received a B.S. in sociology and psychology, and a B.A. in elementary education from Upper Iowa University, and a Master's in elementary education from Truman State University.
Mark generally teaches the elementary school methods and field experience courses. He also supervises student teachers and field experience students. His previous experience teaching in the public education system is a key resource for the pre-service educators in the teacher education program.
Dr. Gail Moorman Behrens

Phone: (563) 425-5211Dr. Gail Moorman Behrens came to Upper Iowa University in 1996 after 18 years in public schools as a teacher working with elementary and middle school students with special education needs, as a teacher of English to middle school students, and as an assistant principal to high school students. Eleven of those years were spent co-teaching as a special educator and as a regular educator at the middle school level to facilitate inclusion.
Dr. Moorman Behrens has a B.A. in elementary education with an emphasis in special education, an M.A. in special education, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership.
Until she became the director of teacher education in 2001, Dr. Moorman Behrens supervised student teachers and taught Foundations of American Education, as well as courses for the middle school teaching endorsement and the special education teaching endorsement.
Aside from her administrative duties, she continues to teach two courses in special education and to supervise student teachers. She is the president-elect of the Iowa Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.

Phone: (563) 425-53357Kevin (KC) Robb joined the Upper Iowa University education faculty in 2002 after nine years in public schools as a teacher working with middle school students and as a coach. He taught students physical education and Quest (Skills for Adolescents). Additionally, he coached high school wrestling, middle school football, and middle school boys track.
KC has a B.S. in physical education from Minnesota State-Mankato, an M.A. in physical education from Minnesota State-Mankato, and an elementary principal endorsement from Drake University. KC is presently working on a Doctorate of Education in curriculum and instruction at the University of Northern Iowa.
At UIU KC teaches the physical education and health methods courses, courses for middle school endorsement, Assessment and Psychology (educational psychology). He also supervises student teachers. KC believes it is his responsibility to challenge his students to find their own answers to tough questions and decisions related to teaching and learning.
Dr. Cynthia Waters

Phone: (563) 425-5257Dr. Cindy Waters joined the faculty in 2001 as an assistant professor of education. She teaches Human Growth, Development and Guidance; Child, Family, Health and Nutrition; Personal, School and Community Health; and the early childhood classes (introduction, curriculum and methods, and administration and supervision) and supervises student teachers.
Prior to coming to UIU, Cindy had been a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at both the middle and high school levels in Independence, Iowa, for 22 years.
She received her B.S. in home economics education, an M.Ed. in vocational education, and a Ph.D. in family and consumer sciences education from Iowa State University. She feels that the experiences she has had in the public school system as well as life experiences are an asset to the teacher education program at UIU.
