Meet the Coordinator

Vickie Houser is the Student Achievement Counselor/Coordinator of Disability Services at Upper Iowa University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Applied Psychology (Counseling), both from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
Vickie has worked within the fields of counseling, social work, disability services, and teaching for more than 19 years. Most recently, Vickie was the Middle School Counselor at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School in Dubuque, Iowa. In that position, she worked daily with students and their families to make sure that their needs were being met and appropriate accommodations were being made for them to be successful at school. During that time, Vickie also taught college courses in Psychology and Special Education.
In her free time, Vickie enjoys spending time with her three sons, Jesse, Connor and Jordan Huff, her husband, Dennis, and her step-children, Heather, Josh & Steven Houser.
