Academic Support
Academic Support at Upper Iowa University is comprised of a variety of services and resources available on the residential campus in Fayette. It was designed with the students' success in mind, and we hope you make use of all the resources we offer on the residential campus. For those students not at our physical location, we encourage you to browse the site to see if any writing- or math-related questions are answered there. Feel free to email any questions or suggestions you have for our area--it is still a work in progress, and we hope to meet the needs of all students at the university.
Some of the services and resources Academic Support offers students:
- Accuplacer Testing -- the Accuplacer test is administered to newly admitted students attending courses on the residential campus.
- Calculator Checkout -- scientific and graphing calculators are made available to students for the duration of a term and can be checked out at the circulation desk of the Henderson-Wilder Library.
- Foundations Courses -- these courses are designed to ready students for college-level coursework in critical reading, writing and math.
- Tutor/Writing Centers -- Academic Support also includes the services at the Tutor Center which provides content tutoring and the Writing Center which provides writing support.
