The Management Information Systems (MIS) major prepares students for a wide range of technology and management related careers. The major focuses are on the use of technology to create and use information to solve business problems, leverage opportunities, make better decisions, and improve efficiency and effectiveness in an organization. The goal of the major is to prepare students for a career and also for graduate study in related fields.
The coursework is designed to prepare students for a variety of technical, managerial, and consulting careers related to computer systems and business analysis. The program is interdisciplinary in nature with specialized training in information systems, the management of technology related projects, and opportunities for the wise use of emerging technology to make competitive business decisions in the global marketplace.
Students in the MIS program develop strong technical skills in addition to a broad background in global business environments. Management Information Systems majors are given the understanding, skills, and experience necessary to succeed in many challenging and dynamic careers related to information and technology management.
