A change in UIU leadership put the refreshment on hiatus in fall 2012, but progress resumed in October 2013 when President Bill Duffy met with the steering committee and the four task force committees to present the President Strategic Planning Vision Statement.

UIU's strategic plan identifies nine centers of activity calling for strategic responses. In combination they form the core of the plan that calls for implementation.
