Please welcome UIU’s new visiting professor in the Information Technology program from Malaysia!

Mr. Chong graduated in 2002 with a MS degree in Information Technology from Putra University Malaysia. He also holds a BS degree (Honors) from Putra University Malaysia which he completed in year 2000. Mr. Chong is currently working as lecturer in Segi College Subang Jaya, Malaysia, in UIU’s ADP Program, since 2005.

At one time Mr. Chong wanted to be an Artist/Performer, which seems very appropriate since he will be working in the Edgar Fine Arts building. During his master’s degree program, Mr. Chong was offered a job as a tutor. After assisting his professor and tutoring classes, he quickly learned that teaching was his passion. He loves to share knowledge and educate students.

His immediate professional goals are to become a good lecturer to all his students and while visiting the United States learn about our educational system and culture. His personal goals are to become a good son to his parents, a good brother to his brother, a good husband to his wife, good father to his children.

His research area is in Bio-informatics and he is interested in collaborating with other faculty while at Upper Iowa University.

Besides teaching he is enjoys playing games, listening to music and watching movies. His favorites are: Favorite sport: Snooker and table tennis; Favorite music: R&B and Pop; Favorite movies: Comedy and action
