The Edgar Fine Arts Hall renovation project is completed.
The building is open and rededication ceremonies were held
during Homecoming weekend October 12-13, 2007.

Alums will be excited to hear that the ground-level swimming pool
is open and that the maple floors of the old gymnasium are
returned to playing condition on the second floor of the building.
The refurbished building houses the Art and Graphic Design
programs in addition to UIU’s newest programs in Nursing
and Information Technology. The third floor houses the art
department offices, three art studios, graphic design computer
lab, and an art classroom. In addition to the new Bing-Davis
Memorial Art Gallery, the second floor is home to offices,
classrooms, and laboratories of the Nursing and IT programs.
The ground floor hosts the oldest indoor swimming pool west
of the Mississippi River, along with remodeled locker rooms
and an expanded ceramics and sculpture studio.
Featuring a new entrance, the Edgar Hall renovation project
encompasses approximately 25,000 square feet of remodeled
space at a cost of $2.8 million, including construction and
furnishings.
