Paul Bonelli, New Jersey printmaker, exhibits recent woodcuts
from his Everyman (Saints) Series, The Supermarket Series, and
Ecclesiastes Series, Bonellis prints reference everything from
biology, to history, to popular culture through imagery of common
objects and situations.

October 3–November 8, 2008—UIU Alumni Exhibit
Artists at Work , features three Upper Iowa Art Department
graduates who enjoy fruitful lives and careers in the arts.
Doug Davis (’85 B.S. Art) operates Davis Studio in Hawkeye
with his twin brother Dan. Together, they provided artistic
services and work by commission. Davis’ work reflects his love
of the environment. Cynthia Fox (’85 Art Education) is department
head and art teacher at Oelwein School District. Fox paints
atmospheric landscapes in watercolor. Barb Prall (‘75 Art Education)
is well-known for her commissioned portraits and landscapes.
Prall runs Barb’s Fine Art Studio in downtown Marion where
she also teaches painting and drawing.

August 25-September 30, 2008-Threshold by Danni Xi
Recent collages, mixed media and paintings incorporate everyday
objects to convey the shared experience of communication at all
levels and among all people. Xi's inspiration flows through her
interest and connection with history and culture; she keenly
observes human nature through philosophy, extensive travel,
cultural changes and the interaction of people around her.
Danni Xi lives and works in Beijing. As a full-time artist, Xi enjoys
a growing reputation, through numerous exhibitions throughout
China as well as a rare opportunity to exhibit in Cairo, Egypt.
Threshold is her first solo exhibit is the United States.
Danni Xi, will serve as visiting artist and guest lecturer this fall

Steven Mark makes mixed media paintings that are affected by the Plains Indian Culture: mediations within the patterns and forces of
the natural world.

inspired by an incident at the UIU senior's former high school in
Miami, Florida.
