Philosophy courses at Upper Iowa University can be taken to fulfill general education requirements or as electives.  The study of Philosophy develops an ability to think clearly and systematically—above all, it cultivates critical thinking and “the love of wisdom,” both intellectual and moral, in line with the etymological origin of the term.  Introduction to Philosophy and Contemporary Ethics are the courses offered in the Philosophy rotation at UIU.
