Past Programs

Women's Leadership Week
This is designed in honor of Women's History Month. The one week program includes luncheons and lectures from invited guests that celebrate the accomplishments of women. They also address the concerns of women on various topics, including the workplace, family, education, self confidence and diversity.

Black History Month Program
Members of the organization wanted to reflect on and pay tribute to African American achievements and struggles. A showcase was organized by the sorority, but included students from various organizations participating in skits, poetry, singing, and reflective tributes of important selections of Martin Luther King's, "I have a Dream" and Malcolm X speeches.

Soul Food Dinner
BTQ felt that it as important for members of the school community to understand various aspects of African American lifestyle, including the food. Thus, they decided to cook for the students and with Sodexho Marriott's permission, prepared foods in the cafeteria and presented them during dinner time. The menu consisted of some items made from traditional African American recipes.

Fashion Show
The interactive show is put on during Homecoming Week. The audience is able to play games and prizes are awarded accordingly, while the models are given the freedom to interact with the crowd freely. The categories are formal, casual, sportswear, and a complete wedding ensemble.
