Upper Iowa University welcomes “independent thinkers” during Iowa Private College Week

College-bound students greeted August 7 – 11

Fayette, Iowa (July 14, 2006) – Upper Iowa University is among 30 private colleges and universities participating in Iowa Private College Week (IPCW), a time for prospective students and their families to visit campuses to match their skills and interests with a higher education experience that best meets their needs and goals.

Visits at Upper Iowa will begin at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day Monday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 11. Interested students are encouraged to register at http://www.uiu.edu or by calling or 800-553-4150, option two.

“Independent-thinking students and their parents shop around for higher education just like they shop for cars and clothes,” said Dr. Alan Walker, Upper Iowa University president. “They shop for value and convenience; they compare quality and price. Campus visits are vitally important to helping them understand what we do and how well we do it.”

Iowa Private College Week is sponsored by the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (IAICU).
