Fayette (January 20, 2006)The Upper Iowa Art Department is pleased to present the paintings and prints of guest artist, Robert Kennon, Associate Professor of Art at Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa.
Kennon’s work is influenced by 18th and 19th century romantic art and theory, concentrating on the sublime, or that which is absolutely great and awe-inspiring. “I have chosen to represent God in abstract form through the attributes of infinity, vastness and astonishment,” says Kennon. “I wish to restore the importance of spirituality and faith.”
The show will be on display at UIU’s Edgar Fine Arts Gallery from January 18 through February 15, 2006.
