Upper Iowa University to host forum for congressional candidate

Fayette, Iowa (March 30, 2006) — Rick Dickinson, a Democratic candidate for Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, will speak at the Andres Center Auditorium on the Upper Iowa University campus in Fayette on April 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public at no charge; all Fayette county residents, civic leaders, university staff and students are invited to attend.

The meeting launches Dickinson’s 12-county “No Town Left Behind” tour that begins in Fayette County and ends in Dubuque County on April 26.

According to Fedelina Madrid, Upper Iowa’s vice president of marketing and communications, invitations have also been extended to the Republican congressional candidates to provide an impartial presentation to the community. ”Upper Iowa University is a non-partisan institution,” said Madrid. “Providing a venue to educate our community is very important to our university and has been our practice for the last 150 years”.
