Iowa legislators choose Upper Iowa University to host open forum to discuss eminent domain

Fayette, Iowa (July 10, 2006) — Upper Iowa University will welcome Iowa state legislators Senator Brian Schoenjahn and Representative Roger Thomas to speak at a public forum concerning eminent domain on Wednesday, July 12, at UIU’s Fayette campus. The forum is expected to draw over 200 attendees.

“We are pleased to provide a venue for this community-based discussion regarding eminent domain” said Fedelina Madrid, associate vice president of marketing and communications for Upper Iowa University. “As an educational institution we appreciate the opportunity to bring the community together to ask questions and interact with our state representatives regarding issues of importance”.

The open forum will be held at Upper Iowa University’s Fayette, Iowa residential campus in Garbee Hall from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The public is welcome to attend and complimentary refreshments will be provided.
