Fayette, Iowa (February 20, 2006)Six Upper Iowa University (UIU) psychology students and their instructor will present at the 2006 Midwest Institute for Students and Teachers of Psychology (MISTOP) conference to be held at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois March 3 and 4.
UIU student presenters led by associate professor of psychology Dr. Thomas S. Parish, Ph. D. include Ryan Barness, West Union, Iowa; Stewart Dalton, Charles City, Iowa; Shay Mahoney, Waukon, Iowa; Jessica Moore, Hawkeye, Iowa; Matthew Sperfslage, Winthrop, Iowa; and Loula Tesfai, Fayette, Iowa. In addition to thirteen individual presentations, the students will participate in a seven-member panel discussion on presenting and publishing research.
Parish said that, since 2002, UIU students have presented 109 presentations at various professional meetings and co-authored nine refereed professional journals.

Each year more than 200 teachers and students from high school through graduate school gather to share their knowledge and experience of the science of psychology at the annual MISTOP conference. The program offers a variety of sessions presented by the leaders in psychology education, as well as ample time for informal sharing and networking among participants.
